What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Carrownvally, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a low-lying level landscape as a circular grass-covered area measuring thirty-eight point two metres north-south and thirty-six point four metres east-west. An overgrown earthen bank and outer fosse define most of the perimeter, though a north-south hedge now divides the interior east of the centre.

On a low-lying level landscape. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 38.2m N-S; 36.4m E-W) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 3.2-4.7m; int. H 0.3-0.7m; ext. H 0.9-1.8m) and outer fosse (Wth of top 4-6m; Wth of base 1.9-2.9m; D 0.3-0.5m) SE-W-N, but the perimeter is reduced to a scarp (H 0.4m) elsewhere.
