What is recorded here
Indicated is a fairy fort in County Mayo, Ireland. It is a cashel, a ringfort built of stone. The facts do not say when it was made or who made it. They do not say whether it is empty or occupied. What is known is that it exists, that it is a fort, and that it belongs to the fairy kind. A fort is a place for defending life. If indirection is the rule, the boundary may still be real. Indicated may be a marker for the distinction between the visible world and the hidden one. It may be a fortress for the beings who move through that boundary. It may be a warning that the edge of the known world is not empty.
