What is recorded here

Indicated is a roughly oval cashel on a gentle Galway rise, its drystone wall still standing beneath a later field wall. The southern entrance gap faces the open pasture, inviting entry into a space old enough to predate every written name. Cattle may have circled it for centuries, unaware they grazed beside a fortress built for humans or something older.

On a gentle rise in pastureland. Roughly oval cashel (54.7m E-W; c. 50m N-S), in fair condition, defined by a drystone wall overlain throughout by a later field wall. There is an entrance gap at SSW. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 25 January 2017
