What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Carrownacreevy (leyny By.), County Sligo, Ireland. The 1838 Ordnance Survey map showed an embanked circular area about twenty metres across, but rough pasture has since levelled the bank. A slight central rise ten metres wide remains visible where rushes no longer grow.

In level rough pasture. This possible rath is indicated only on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as an embanked circular area (diam. c. 20m). It is now levelled and evident only as a roughly circular area (diam. c. 20m), with a slight rise (Wth 10m) at the centre. This area is clear of rushes which densely cover the rest of the field.
