What is recorded here

On the broad WNW-ESE ridge of Carnfree. Circular grass-covered platform (diam. of top 7.6m E-W; 7m N-S; diam. of base 10.6m E-W; 10m N-S; H 0.2-0.3m) surrounded by a fosse (Wth of top 3.2m at N to 6m E-S; Wth of base 2-2.5m) and outer bank (Wth 4-5m; int. H 0.5-0.8m; ext. H 0.75-1m). A gap (Wth 1.7m) has been broken in the bank at E (ext. diam. 23.6m N-S; 23.4m E-W). Barrows (RO028-063004-; RO028-063005-) are c. 200m to the W. Enclosure (RO028-063005-) is c. 50m to the W and enclosure (RO028-064002-) is c. 50m to the N. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
