Indicated is a drowned wooden island in Lough Machugh, County Leitrim, where ghost piles still mark the edge of a home built above the water. People may have stood on that hidden deck, watching rain strike the lake or carrying butter and news across the bay before the wood rotted and the lake took the room back. The water does not erase the shape; it repeats it, keeping the outline alive beneath the surface.

Located within a bay (dims c. 200m NE-SW; c. 180m NE-SW) at the SE edge of Lough Machugh, a subrectangular lake (dims c. 650-850m N-S; c. 300m E-W at N to c. 500m E-W at S). This is an overgrown, circular, stony island (diam. 30.5m N-S; 27m E-W; max. H 1.5m) sometimes connected to the shore by a silt causeway and surrounded by intermittently visible timber piles and some planks lying in the water parallel to the edge. The cairn at the centre (diam. c. 15m) has a boulder edge W-N-E. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J.
