Situated at the base of a SW-facing slope, under tillage. Depicted as a large, oval enclosure on both the 1st and 2nd eds. of the OS 6-inch map. Though levelled, the outline at E and S is visible as a broad, curving rise in the field (diam. c. 86m NE-SW; c. 90m NW-SE). The site was inspected in 1964 and was described as a small, irregularly shaped field with a 'fairly massive' straight bank on the E side (OPW file, 1964). An aerial photograph shows that by 1968 it had been levelled (CUCAP, AVN 63). The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary.
