Indicated is a fairy fort in County Mayo, Ireland, where an earth and stone bank still marks a broadly oval rise above pasture. The laneway follows its eastern edge, breaks open at two places, and leaves the interior crowded with hawthorn, hazel and blackthorn. It is the kind of site where people may have kept animals, hidden tools or avoided trouble, while local story more often assigns it to fairy life.

In pasture, located on a rise, with good views, especially to S. Slightly raised broadly oval area (30m N−S; 34m E-W) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3.6m; int. H -.75m; ext. H 1.8m). On the E arc the bank is incorporated into the line of a farm laneway which extends to N and S of the rath; breaks in the bank at SE and NE allow access into the rath from the laneway. On the S arc bank has been adapted to serve as a field boundary. The level interior is densely covered in hawthorn, hazel and blackthorn scrub.
