What is recorded here
Indicated is a partially levelled fairy fort in County Mayo, its flat top spanning nineteen metres and twenty-one metres across a slight rise. Gorse and brambles still ring the perimeter like a living fence, while hard stone pokes through sparse grass and moss beneath your feet. The earth may have swallowed human lives or hidden them from history, leaving only shape and shadow behind.
In rough pasture, located on a slight rise with wettish ground to E and S. A minor road skirts the base of the rise at N–NE.
Raised circular, flat-topped area (c. 19m N–S; c. 21m E–W) defined by a very broadly sloping scarp. The interior area consists of a hard, stony surface, showing through a sparse covering of rough grass, moss and gorse. Gorse and brambles thickly ring the perimeter. This appears to be the partly levelled rath.
