What is recorded here

Indicated was a rath, a circular earthen fortress about twenty-five metres across on a low rise in County Mayo. It stood in pasture until ploughs and time erased it, leaving no visible trace despite appearing on maps from 1838 and 1930. The land swallowed the wall, the gate, and every life inside, reducing a defended home to memory and vacant grass.
