Indicated is a circular cashel on a Clare plateau where karst limestone bites through rough pasture and the ground drops ten metres toward the south-east. Its double-faced wall still stands half a metre to a metre and a half high, built from huge horizontal stones that seem less like construction than like a suggestion the earth made and someone followed. A second cashel waits thirty-five metres north-west, and a machine-cut gap scars the first, reminding us that even fairy forts must yield to human urgency.

On a plateau in rough pasture and karst limestone within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-059001-), with the ground sloping steeply down (max. H 10m) c. 35m to the SSE. Hachured on the 1842 and 1920 eds. of the OS 6-inch map. This circular cashel (int. dims. 26m N-S; 24.5m E-W) is defined by the overgrown remains of a double-faced wall (Wth 1-2.3m; H 0.5-1.5m) of large horizontally laid stones (1-1.3m; Wth 0.5-0.8m; H 0.2-0.3m). A large gap in the wall (Wth 5m) at the SW appears to have been made by a machine. Another cashel (CL009-059090-) lies c. 35m to the NW.
