In level pasture, with an expanse of rough damp land to N. This enclosure, possibly a rath, is shown on the 1837 edition OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m); it is not shown on the 19191 edition. It has been levelled. The only trace visible at ground level is a low, stony scarp (H 0.6m) curving S−W in shallow arc (L c. 8m). A ruined semi-circular, stone-built vernacular limekiln (3m NW−SE; 2m NE−SW) is built into the scarp. The scarp appears to be a remnant of the SW arc of the enclosure, preserved because of the presence of the limekiln. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 25 November 2020
