What is recorded here

Indicated is a stone ringfort in County Limerick, Ireland, occupying an ovoid patch of pasture on a gentle south-facing slope. Its bank stands half a metre high in places but rises to one metre sixty-five where it merged into a field boundary, while mature trees now shade the interior and loose stones litter the ground. The fort may have housed families, herds or fear itself, yet time has stripped it to a quiet circle where the land still remembers the shape of human life.

In pasture, on gentle S-facing slope. Ovoid area (32m N-S; 27m E-W) enclosed by stone bank (int. H 0.45m; ext. H 0.5m). Bank best preserved (int. H 1.65m) where incorporated into field boundary NE->SSE. Interior, covered by mature trees, is littered with loose stones; slopes down to SE. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
