What is recorded here
Indicated as a small circular quarry or sand pit (diam. c. 23m) on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map. The quarry is not indicated on the 1947 revision and is likely to have been filled in by then. The quarry appears as a cropmark on an aerial photograph (GB89.P.13, 13 July 1989), the edge of the quarry giving the impression of a fosse.
