Imelda May

Imelda May was born in The Liberties, County Dublin, on 10 July 1974, the youngest of five siblings in a crowded house where music may have first sounded like life itself. She later carried that Dublin edge into rockabilly, jazz and soul, releasing albums such as Love Tattoo and Mayhem while performing with Jeff Beck at the Grammy Awards. Her story is not only about charts or prizes; it is about a young woman from a busy inner-city home refusing to leave her voice behind.
