Illannolana-maddogy is a ruined circular crannog in Galway marshland, reduced to a shallow platform beside old Corralough Lake. Its name honours Nuala of the Knife, a heroine whose memory turned water and reeds into a stage for defiance. The V-shaped depression at the centre may have marked a hearth, a well or a wound in the ground, while the pine line still guards the edge like a quiet sentinel.

In marshland, formerly part of Corralough Lake. A poorly preserved circular artifipial platform (D c. 25m, H 0.6m) with a V-shaped depression in the interior. A line of pine trees grow along the perimeter. According to OS Letters (O'Flanagan 1927, Vol. 1, 69), the name derives from 'Nuala na meadoige Nuala of the Knife a celebrated heroine'.
