Two shallow quarry pits at the southeast edge of the Tiravera rath may have been hut floors rather than stone traps. Fragments of rotary querns recovered during the 1927 investigation suggest people ground grain there, lived there, and left behind only a vague hollow in the earth. The distinction between a home and a wound becomes blurry when both disappear under grass.

Located at the SE edge of rath (MO010-001001-). Two relict quarry pits might be interpreted as hut-sites where fragments of rotary querns were found in the investigation of the rath conducted in 1927 (Macalister 1928). Date of revised upload: 26 January 2018
