Hut site in Skeagh (carbery West (w.d) By.)

In rough hill pasture, on the N side of an E-W terrace overlooking Skull Harbour to the S. The remains of an oval hut site (5m N-S; 4m E-W), which are largely hidden by heather and gorse, are defined by the jumbled lower courses of a stone wall (T 0.4m; H 0.45m). The wall is best preserved SE-SW and along the NW arc. The level interior, which is obscured by rubble and overgrowth, is raised (H 0.3m) at the S. A radially set slab at the S may indicate the entrance location and an E-W slab in the S quadrant may suggest some form of internal division.
