Hut site in Shronebirrane

In rough hill pasture, on an E-facing slope of Tooth Mountain and within a network of relict field boundaries (KE108-055----). The remains of a rectangular hut site (3.2m N-S; 2.2m E-W) defined by a bank (Wth 0.55m; H 0.05-0.55m) at N, S and W and by uncoursed, rubble stone facing along the E wall externally where the hut site is built up (H 0.2m) from the downslope. Some stones are missing from the E wall and rubble is scattered downslope to the E where it is covered by peaty soil. The interior is level. A N-S stretch of a relict wall from the network of field walls lies immediately to the E. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
