Hut site in Shehy More

In rough hill grazing, on bog, on a terrace on the N-facing slopes of Shehy More. The remains of a D-shaped hut site (2.5m N-S) with a straight S side (L 2.6m) are defined by the jumbled lower courses of a drystone wall (T 0.6m; H 0.8m). The stone wall protrudes above the surface of the bog. The straight S side is cut (D 0.7m) into the upslope at the S. Loose stones are scattered in the E-sloping interior. There is an entrance (Wth 0.6m) at the E. An enclosure (CO093-088----) lies c. 100m to the SE. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
