Hut site in Shehy Beg

In rough hill grazing, on bog, on a terrace on the upper S-facing slopes of Shehy Beg. The remains of a circular hut site (2m N-S; 1.8m E-W) defined by a jumbled stone wall (T 0.6m; H 0.4m) which protrudes from traces of a low peaty bank (H 0.05m). Another hut site (CO093-077004-) is c. 10m to the E and a second hut site (CO093-077005-) is c. 30m to the N. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
