What is recorded here

Lisheen-cankeragh, meaning little fort of the sheep's head, still stands in Meenogahane beside a semi-circular stone hut. The hut measures 3.7 metres, rises 0.4 metres, and keeps a two-metre southern opening. It may have served the fort or the living people around it. Whatever it was, it is small enough to touch and old enough to stop a person listening.

This site is marked on the OS maps as Lisheen-cankeragh (KE008-003----) (little fort of the sheep's head). Immediately SW of this lies a small hut site (KE008-002----). The hut site to the SW is semi-circular in plan, measuring 3.7m N-S; it is constructed of stone and rises to a height of .4m. A small opening of c2m exists to the S.
