Hut site in Meallis

In rough upland pasture, on a sheltered terrace on the N-facing slopes of Macgillycuddy's Reeks. The remains of a circular hut site (diam. 4m) defined by a well-constructed, partially collapsed, drystone wall (T 0.75m; H 1.2m). The inner face of the wall slopes gradually inwards, suggesting a corbelled roof. Rubble is scattered along the perimeter of the hut site. A break (Wth 0.9m) at SE may indicate an entrance. Another hut site (KE073-003001-) adjoins this hut site at W. A third hut site (KE073-003002-) is c. 10m to the WNW.
