What is recorded here

According to the Kerry Field Notes (1940, 75-83), the party inspected the standing stone (KE020-020001-) and other archaeological monuments in its immediate vicinity, including the large stone fort (KE020-037----). They mention, to the W and SW of the above, numerous hut sites which did not need the protection of the stone fort. No visible trace of these survives today. This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
