What is recorded here
In pasture, located on a ridge top, in an area of sharply undulating terrain, broken by rock outcropping and traversed by remnants of field boundaries (SL018-051009-). There is a megalithic structure (SL018-051001-) 6m to N. This consists of a roughly C-shaped structure (8m NE–SW; c. 6m NW–SE) defined at NE–SW by a broadly slumped, sod-covered stone and earth bank (Wth 1.8-2m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.2-0.3m at E). Cutting across the open side at NW is a sod-covered NE–SW field bank. A gap (Wth 1m) in the field bank allows access into the enclosed C-shaped area. It was recorded as a possible fulacht fia in 1986 in a sketch plan (SMR file: pers. comm. W. Forbes, mound ‘A’). It is not a fulacht fia. It may have been a small animal pen or enclosure, or a hut site.
