Hut site in Doire Mhic Coirnín — Report the wrong picture

Doire Mhic Coirnín preserves an isolated rectangular hut on high ground northwest of a megalithic tomb. Uncoursed dry-stone walling joins natural rock outcrop to form a small shelter barely one metre high. The location suggests people valued the elevated view and proximity to the older tomb when building or using the hut.

Described by Quinn and Carroll (2010) as ‘isolated hut located on high ground towards E side of the site NW of Megalithic Tomb (RMP CO080-019). This hut consists of a rectangular area defined at the SW and SE by uncoursed dry-stone walling and on the N and NE by natural rock outcrop. The wall is constructed on natural rock.
