Killurly holds a circular hut site inside a children's burial ground, facing a gallaun rather than a road or field. That arrangement suggests a place set apart for watching, mourning or tending the dead instead of ordinary living. The stones have vanished, but the shape remains in the account: a small room opening toward the graves, where human presence may have meant staying close to the young dead instead of leaving them behind.

Within a children's burial ground (KE097-003----). In a letter to H. G. Leask, dated 20 June 1939, Capt. D. B. O'Connell mentions 'a circular hut-site' located within the area of a 'Calluragh' in Killurly. The correspondent also mentions that a 'gallaun' (KE097-003003-) faced the possible hut site.
