Monacarroge, a small promontory jutting into Dingle Bay, holds three oval hut sites along its western edge. Two northern huts remain detached from the enclosing bank, their eastern entrance gaps still visible against the ancient earth. They measure barely more than a person stretched out, suggesting cramped, intimate lives rather than grand display. The sea would have pressed close during storms, making these small shelters both refuge and reminder of nature’s reach.

Monacarroge/Móin na Caróige: This small promontory fort, jutting S into Dingle Bay, is referred to by Westropp (1910, 278) by the name of the adjacent field. Three hut-sites (KE052-285005-, KE052-285006- & KE052-285007-) extend along the W side of the promontory. The 2 northernmost, detached both from each other and from the enclosing bank to W, are oval structures with entrance gaps positioned centrally along their E sides.
