Monacarroge, a small promontory fort jutting into Dingle Bay, holds four adjoining hut-sites whose back walls form the eastern cliff edge. The cramped chambers, measuring as little as 2.6 by 1.5 metres, suggest people lived close to the sea and stone, perhaps watching weather or waiting for boats. Their entrances faced west along the inner walls, opening directly toward the churning bay rather than the safety of land.

Monacarroge/Móin na Caróige: This small promontory fort, jutting S into Dingle Bay, is referred to by Westropp (1910, 278) by the name of the adjacent field. The bank skirting the E cliff edge in the interior forms the back wall of 4 adjoining hut-sites (KE052-285001-, KE052-285002-, KE052-285003- & KE052-285004-) which extend S from the inner defence. The internal dimensions range from 3.4 x 1.9m to 2.6 x 1.5m, and the enclosing banks average 1 to 1.7m in width, .3m in height externally and slightly higher internally.
