Hut site in Carrowreilly

To W of the centre of a rath (SL032-107001-). Foundations of a hut site (max. dims. 4.8m N-S; 5.8m E-W) defined on the S side by a low grassy rise (Wth c. 1m; int. H 0.1m; ext. H 0.35m) and on the W and N sides by a low internal scarp (H 0.4m) from which a few stones protrude. It is truncated on the E side by a subrectangular quarry pit. Low sod-covered remnants of a wall (Wth 0.8m; H 0.3m) extend to WNW from the NW corner of the structure. The structure is cut into the sloping interior of the rath so that its level interior is lower than exterior ground level to N but higher than it to S.
