Hut site in Canalough

On an E-W rough pasture ridge with occasional outcropping rock, on the seashore on the S side of Blackball Harbour. The remains of a rectangular hut site (3.5m N-S; 1.7m E-W) defined by a grass-covered bank (Wth 0.7m; H 0.45m) of earth and stone, which is almost vertical internally and slopes outwards externally at the W and S. The E bank is gapped and the sea has totally eroded the N bank. There are traces of internal stone facing in the SE corner. The entrance (Wth 0.3m) is near the N end of the E bank. There is a hut site (CO127-050015-) 20m to the W and another hut site (CO127-050018-) is 17m to the E. A sheep dipping tank is immediately to the W.
