In the NE quadrant of a cashel (SL118-071001-). This hut site encloses the opening to a Man-made underground passage (SL118-071002-). It was described in OPW Topographical Files (1983) as ‘a square enclosure (hut site) with an opening to a Man-made underground passage at its centre’ (SMR file). An Archaeological Survey of Ballinrobe and District recorded it as ‘Hut site 1: circular, (diam. 10.5m; H 0.6m) contains a Man-made underground passage’ (Lavelle, 1994).
