Monaree Hill still watches Ballymore, but its ancient hut has surrendered to plough ridges and forgotten fields. Two shallow depressions remain near a dividing wall, perhaps marking where people once lived above the downhill slope. They may have watched weather come off the sea, stored what they grew, or simply rested in the shadow of the hill. The land has buried the answer, yet the shapes still suggest a small life lived there before memory faded.

Roughly circular univallate rath KE053-007---- is located at the foot of the S slopes of Monaree Hill, overlooking Ballymore village. The interior is raised above the external ground level on the downhill side. It is now occupied by a series of cultivation ridges, but 2 shallow depressions, to NE of the dividing field wall, may be the remains of hut sites (KE053-007002- & KE053-007003-).
