Ardfert holds a rare circular hut site where three mounds still mark the floors of small rooms. They may have belonged to a family, a craftsman, or a keeper of the fortress above. The distinction matters because ordinary life sustained the grandeur elsewhere.

Univallate ringfort KE021-108---- consists of a circular area enclosed by a bank and external fosse. The interior contained three mounds, two in the centre and one towards the SW sector; these are possibly the remains of house sites (KE021-108001-, KE021-108002- and KE021-108003-).
