Hugh Geoghegan

Hugh Geoghegan, born in Athlone in 1938, became one of Ireland's most visible Supreme Court judges after a career that moved from the bar to arbitration and then to the High Court. His father had also sat on the Supreme Court, so the family name belonged to Irish law before Hugh ever entered a courtroom.
