Detached four-bay single-storey thatched cottage, c.1840, retaining most early fenestration. Renovated, c.1940, with single-bay single-storey flat-roofed projecting lower porch added. Part refenestrated, c.1990. Hipped roof with reed thatch having rope work to ridge, and red brick Running bond squat chimney stack. Flat concrete roof to porch. Unpainted roughcast walls. Square-headed window openings with rendered sills, and rendered surrounds. 2/2 timber sash windows with some replacement uPVC casement windows, c.1990. Square-headed door opening with replacement timber panelled door, c.1990. Set back from road in own grounds with forecourt. (ii) Detached three-bay single-storey outbuilding, c.1940, to east with square-headed carriageway to left. Pitched roof with corrugated-asbestos, concrete ridge tiles, rendered coping, and aluminium rainwater goods. Unpainted rendered walls. Square-headed slit-style window openings with fittings not visible. Square-headed door openings with timber doors. Square-headed carriageway with timber double doors. (iii) Detached single-bay single-storey outbuilding with attic, c.1915, to south. Pitched roof with corrugated-iron, iron ridge tiles, rendered coping, and no rainwater goods. Unpainted rendered walls. Square-headed window opening with no sill, and fixed-pane timber window. (iv) Detached single-bay single-storey outbuilding, c.1890, to east. Pitched slate roof with clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stack, rendered coping, and no rainwater goods. Unpainted rendered walls. Square-headed door opening with replacement iron door, c.1965.

An appealing group of small-scale buildings traditionally arranged about a courtyard forming an important element of the vernacular heritage of County Waterford. The cottage, forming the centrepiece of the group, presents a substantially intact early aspect, although the gradual replacement of the early fenestration with inappropriate modern articles threatens the historic character of the composition.
