The Down Survey (1655-6) barony map shows a house in the approximate location of Ring House. Ring House was demolished c. 1960 and there are no visible remains of it. According to local information the house was 'three-storey and very long' (CAS). The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
