Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c.1900. Extensive additions to rear (north-west). Pitched artificial slate roof with rendered chimney stacks and cast-iron rainwater goods. Rendered walls. Square headed openings with two-over-two timber sliding sash windows and concrete sills. Square-headed door opening with timber battened door. Flagstones form U-plan around house and continue into garden. Earlier dwelling and outbuildings to north-east with pitched slate and corrugated-iron roofs, rubble stone walls and square-headed window and door openings.

The modest form and symmetrical plan of this house is suggestive of the work of the Congestive District Board, which built houses in rural areas at the turn of the century in an attempt to improve living standards. The Board often built houses in close proximity to the vernacular houses which they were replacing, as is the case on this site. The associated buildings add to its setting and context. Such complexes are becoming increasingly rare throughout the county.
