Terraced four-bay two-storey house, built c.1900, with modern timber shopfront and integral carriage arch. Fronts directly onto street. Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystacks. Roughcast rendered walls with stone quoins and stone string course. Timber sash windows with painted sills. Round-headed door opening with block-and-start stone surround. Timber spoked fanlight with central keystone. Carving of a canon to keystone. Carriage arch opening with double timber panelled doors. Timber shopfront with pilasters flanking display window and fascia board supported by console brackets. Replacement door with cut stone threshold step.
Dempsey Travel Insurance, located on JKL Street is incorporated into the broader street plan. This striking early twentieth-century house has architectural features of note such as a carriage arch and a decorative block-and-start door surround. The central keystone above the fanlight has an unusual carving of a canon in high relief, which according to the building's current owner, was the family symbol of the blacksmith who used to reside in this building.
