Four circular houses stood along the northeast edge of a palisaded enclosure in County Kilkenny, their post holes marking at least three phases of building and replacement. Radiocarbon dates place them between AD 25 and 131, when simple tent-like shelters may have given way to sturdier walls as the settlement grew. They were not grand, but they were repeated, meaning people kept returning to the same spot, rebuilding what the weather or years had taken.

Excavated in 2006-7 in advance of the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford Road Improvement Scheme. Excavation licence no. 2517, AR053, Area C. One of a cluster of monuments found in close proximity to each other in an area c. 1.8ha with dates ranging from the Late Neolithic to the early medieval period. Four circular post-built structures (ext. diams. 6.35-9.8m) were found along the NE portion of a palisaded enclosure (KK031-076----). They represent at least three phases of construction and replacement. These are not likely to have been substantial and may have been simple tent-like structures. Radiocarbon dates ranged from Cal AD 25-128 (UBA 10685) to Cal AD 60-131 (UBA 10684).
