House

House, indeterminate date

What is recorded here

Situated in the S interior of a cashel (CL009-049002-). A house (int. dims. 7.6m ESE–WNW; 3.4m NNE–SSW) defined by double-faced stone walls (Wth 0.6–0.8m; max. H c. 0.8m). The possible entrance (Wth 0.8m) is at the E end of the S wall. At the centre of the S wall there is a projection (L 1.5m; D 0.8m) on the inner wall-face. The walls of the house avoid the possibly modified grykes of the cashel interior, indicating that the house post-dates any human activity in these grykes, and possibly reflecting a general contemporaneity between these features.
