What is recorded here

Univallate rath KE008-014---- has been cut along its NE bank by a fieldbank running SE-NW. The site consists of a semi-circular area enclosed by an earth and stone bank. The interior is at a higher level than the surrounding land. Towards the W sector of the interior there is an oblong mound of stone, 4.4m x 7.2m x .4m high, possibly suggesting a house-site (KE008-014001-). Two ridges run in a N-S direction down the interior of this site, suggesting that it has been used for growing vegetables. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 335. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 2 August 2013
