House

House, indeterminate date

What is recorded here

Located at the bottom of a steep W-facing slope, and at the E edge of a col between Leean Hill to the W and Conray to the E. It was first identified by Kytmannow as a hut-site in Area F, a cluster of five house sites within c. 10m of each other. This is a grass-covered rectangular area (ext. dims 5.55m NW-SE; 3.8m NE-SW; int. dims 3.8m NW-SE; 2.4m NE-SW) defined by a grass-covered earth and stone wall, but an entrance is not identified. An internal wall (Wth 0.5m) divides the interior into a N (int. dim. 1.5m NW-SE) and S (int. dim. 1.8m NW-SE) rooms. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 4 July, 2017
