End-of-terrace three-bay two-storey townhouse, extant 1882, on a rectangular plan; three-bay two-storey rear (south) elevation. Occupied, 1901; 1911. Part refenestrated, ----. One of a terrace of four. Pitched slate roof with trefoil-perforated crested clay ridge tiles, rendered panelled chimney stacks having corbelled stepped capping supporting yellow terracotta pots, decorative timber bargeboards to gable on timber purlins with finial to apex, and cast-iron rainwater goods on moulded rendered cornice retaining cast-iron octagonal or ogee hoppers and downpipes. Rendered wall (ground floor) on moulded cushion course on rendered plinth; rendered surface finish (first floor) with rendered quoins to corners; rendered, ruled and lined surface finish to rear (south) elevation. Square-headed central door opening approached by flight of three cut-granite steps with rendered block-and-start surround centred on diamond pointed keystone framing timber panelled double doors having overlight. Square-headed window openings with cut-granite sills (ground floor) or cut-granite sill course (first floor), and rendered block-and-start surrounds centred on diamond pointed keystones framing one-over-one timber sash windows. Square-headed window openings to rear (south) elevation centred on square-headed window opening (landing) with cut-granite sills, and concealed dressings framing replacement uPVC casement windows replacing one-over-one timber sash windows centred on fixed-pane fitting having stained glass margins. Interior including (ground floor): central vestibule retaining encaustic tiled floor; square-headed door opening into hall with glazed timber panelled door; hall retaining carved timber surrounds to door openings framing timber panelled doors; and carved timber surrounds to door openings to remainder framing timber panelled doors with timber panelled shutters to window openings. Set back from road in landscaped grounds with rendered octagonal piers to perimeter having polygonal capping supporting crocketed wrought iron gate.

A townhouse erected by Thomas Pettigrew (d. 1890) as one of a terrace of four houses (including 15607015 - 15607017) representing an integral component of the later nineteenth-century domestic built heritage of Wexford with the architectural value of the composition suggested by such attributes as the compact rectilinear plan form centred on a robust doorcase; and the diminishing in scale of the openings on each floor producing a graduated visual impression with the principal "apartments" defined by polygonal bay windows. Having been well maintained, the elementary form and massing survive intact together with substantial quantities of the original fabric, both to the exterior and to the interior where encaustic tile work; contemporary joinery; and plasterwork enrichments, all highlight the artistic potential of a townhouse forming part of a self-contained ensemble making a pleasing visual statement in an increasingly suburbanised street scene.
