Semi-detached three-bay three-storey house, built c.1795, having lean-to addition with cat-slide and later two-storey return to rear (west). Pitched slate roofs with rendered eaves course, rendered chimneystacks and cast-iron rainwater goods. Lined-and-ruled rendered walls with rendered quoins to front (east) elevation of main block and side (north) elevation of return. Diminishing square-headed window openings with stone sills throughout, having uPVC casement windows to front and side (north) elevations and single eight-over-eight pane timber sliding sash window to side (north) elevation of lean-to addition. Recessed round-headed door opening within moulded render doorcase comprising reveals with moulded edges and fluted pilasters on plinths surmounted by archivolt with keystone. Timber panelled door with brass door furniture, flanked by timber and decorative stained glass side panels, surmounted by spoked fanlight.

This prominently sited, elegantly proportioned former house retains much of its original form and character together with important historic features and materials including an unusually prominent doorcase, render decorations and single sash window. This house is one of a pair located on the west side of Emmet Square, formerly known as Shannon Square, named after the Earls of Shannon, which was laid out between 1785 and 1810 to accommodate the wealthy merchants of the town.
