Detached four-bay two-storey house, c.1725, originally four-bay single-storey. Extensively renovated, c.2000. Now in commercial use to ground floor. Hipped gabled slate roof with clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stacks, and replacement uPVC rainwater goods, c.2000, on timber eaves. Painted roughcast lime rendered walls over random rubble stone construction. Square-headed window openings (some in bipartite arrangement to ground floor) with rendered sills, and rendered panelled surrounds having consoles. Replacement 6/6 uPVC sash windows, c.2000. Square-headed door opening with rendered clustered colonette doorcase supporting dentilated entablature, and glazed timber panelled double doors. Set back from line of road in own grounds with timber fence to boundary.

An appealing house of modest appearance retaining some of its original form. However, extensive renovation works have eroded much of the historic character of the site, and while replacement fittings have been installed to the window openings with reference to historic models, they are fashioned from inappropriate modern materials. Nevertheless, the house continues to have a positive impact in the street scene, and is of additional significance for its early origins as a commercial venture, deeds dating to the early eighteenth century.
