Linked to an unidentified saint or local tradition, the well at Meenagrauv may have once been associated with healing practices or seasonal rituals, as was common with many holy wells in Ireland. Its veneration likely declined over time, though the site's former sacred status is indicated by its classification as a 'Holy Well' in historical records.
