Holy well in Rostyduff Lower

Unlocated well within the townland of Rostyduff Lower. According to Lynch (1994, 646) there is a holy well known as ‘St Brigit’s Well’ in the townland of Rostyduff that is mentioned in the 1930s Irish Folklore Commission, Schools Manuscript Collection (IFC S 914: 539; IFC S 917: 173). Linked to St Brigit, the well is associated with traditional healing practices and may have been a site of pilgrimage or ritual. St Brigit, a widely venerated early Irish saint, is often connected with wells and fertility, and such sites were commonly used for offerings and prayers for health and protection.
