What is recorded here
Holy well in Mín Doire Ghabhann stands in County Donegal, Ireland. Ó Muirgheasa recorded it in 1936 as a living ritual place dedicated to St. Dubhthach, where people still made a turus or station beside the water. The well is not a forgotten hole or a dead relic; it is a working threshold where human life, memory and devotion still move.
OS 41 (Precise location not discovered) 56. Described by Ó Muirgheasa in 1936 as 'Holy Well at Culhame, a quarter of a mile north-east of Mullaghduff N. S. A turus or station is made there yet. The well was dedicated to St. Dubhthach' (Ó Muirgheasa 1936, 152). (Ó Muirgheasa No. 48)
The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.'
