Holy well in Liberties OF Carlingford marked both the 1835 and 1938-9 OS maps, yet its water and purpose have faded from ordinary memory. School Manuscripts claim people still cross themselves when passing, which means the well may never have stopped being alive. It is not a ruined relic but a quiet witness, waiting for someone to remember why the body still answers before the mind does.
